I'm thinking about summer. A lot. This year, summer is a more exciting prospect than any other year I can remember as an adult. It probably has something to do with the insanely depressing snow and ice we had this winter. However, there are also some fun new things happening for us that I'm just pumped about.
It was supposed to rain today, but the skies are blue with puffy clouds and I'm deliriously happy about it. I've never suffered from seasonal depression. As someone who LOVES cold, rain and snow, I've always embraced winter. This year was different. There was an element of depression going on inside my head that I can now look back on and recognize it's rooted in the seasons.
It makes the spring and summer so much brighter. It's like living in technicolor. Did I just age myself? Some of you may need to look that one up.
One thing that changes for most of us during summer is our routine. We plan holidays, take weekend trips and have to plan kid schedules. It can sometimes mean that we focus so much planning time on the activities that we forget how we are going to keep up with the good food so our bodies are ready to meet the bright sunny days.
